Who we are
BDO Class Hub is a free, fan-made guide site for Black Desert. It is not affiliated with Pearl Abyss.
What we collect
If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymous usage statistics:
- Pages you view and how long you stay
- Clicks on expert cards and on links to Twitch, YouTube, X, Discord and Kick
- Your answers to the class survey and your top results
- Searches on the site
- Your approximate country or region, device type, browser and language
We do not collect your name, email address or account details, and we never try to identify you.
Why we collect it
To understand which class guides, experts and features are useful, so we can improve the site.
Cookies and storage we use
- bdo_consent: remembers your cookie choice for 12 months. Strictly necessary.
- bdoLang (browser storage): remembers your language. Strictly necessary.
- bch-controls (browser storage): remembers whether guides show PC or Console controls. Stored only in your browser and never sent anywhere.
- _ga and _ga_*: Google Analytics cookies, only set if you accept analytics. They last up to 2 years, or until you withdraw consent.
Analytics cookies are only set after you click Accept. Before that, the Google Analytics script is not loaded at all.
Google Analytics
Google processes this data for us as our service provider (data processor). Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Google Signals and ad personalization are turned off, so this data is not used for advertising. Analytics data is kept for 14 months and then deleted automatically.
- Google Privacy Policy
- How Google uses information from sites that use its services
- Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on
Survey answers
When you finish the class survey, your answers and your top 3 results are also sent to a Google Sheet that we use to improve the survey. This record is anonymous: it contains a random session code, the date, your language and your device type (mobile or desktop), but no name, email address or IP address. It is part of the survey itself and does not use cookies.
Page and survey totals
We also keep simple totals of how many times each page is viewed and how many surveys are completed. These totals are only numbers: they use no cookies and contain no personal data.
Live Now (Twitch)
To show which class experts are streaming right now, your browser asks Twitch (gql.twitch.tv and static-cdn.jtvnw.net for profile pictures) and the helper service decapi.me for their live status. This happens on every page, uses no cookies and sends no personal data from us, but like any web request it shares your IP address and browser details with those services.
No selling, no ads
We do not sell or share your data, and there are no ads on this site.
Your rights
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time with Cookie settings, at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing stops analytics and deletes the Google Analytics cookies.
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, PIPEDA in Canada or the CCPA in California), you can ask to access or delete data about you, or object to its use. Because the data is anonymous we may not be able to link it to you, but contact us and we will help.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
